These collaborations with my wife, Victoria, are archival pigment prints, where I combine images of our work. I take an image of her drawing and the image of my photograph and combine them in Photoshop. I start the process by removing the negative space and other unwanted parts from both images. This is a time-consuming task since the space between each branch is removed. Then I combine them through layering and masking to achieve the desired image, determining what parts of each image should be shown and which branches may be intertwined. The viewer is left to determine which is which. In some instances, I take it further by placing the combined image back into its environment in my original photograph.
These collaborations may go in both directions!
